Our Turkish coffee (Türk Kahvesi) is freshly roasted from our special Brazil blend, pre-ground extremely fine, finer than espresso, to be brewed with an Ibrik or a machine adaption of an Ibrik. Rhostio Turkish Coffee Ground is a crowd-pleaser with a classic coffee flavour profile that tastes dark chocolate and hazelnut. This brewing method produces a rich, heavy-bodied coffee and a punchy profile.
Turkish Coffee – The Oldest Coffee Brewing Technique
Step back in time with Turkish coffee, a sophisticated brew that originated over 500 years ago in the opulent palaces of the Ottoman Empire. Crafted in Istanbul’s grand halls, Turkish coffee is the foundation of global coffee culture, known for its rich heritage and ceremonial importance.
Traditionally, the beans are hand-roasted over hot coals and ground to a delicate powder using a brass grinder called “kahve değirmeni”. This coffee’s unique character lies in its ultra-fine grind and distinct brewing process. Using a cezve pot, the coffee is simmered with water (and sugar, if desired) and poured unfiltered, allowing the grounds to settle for a velvety, full-bodied experience.
Turkish coffee is elegantly served in small, ornated cups called “fincans”, often accompanied by a glass of water and sweet treats like Turkish delight. A drink as storied as it is delicious, Turkish coffee offers an immersive taste of history with every sip.
